How this estimate is made

We pull ~5 years of daily reference evapotranspiration (ET₀), rainfall, and temperature for your location from Open-Meteo, then simulate a daily soil-water balance for your grass type — watering only to refill what the soil actually lost, the same way the controller decides. Your current use is compared against that. The water rate, soil, and efficiency assumptions all come from the firmware defaults and are yours to adjust.

The result is a modeled estimate conditioned on your inputs — not a measured or guaranteed figure. Your real savings depend on your yard, weather, and habits.
